Meet the hosts
Rachel
Co-Host & Guardian of All Things Plot, Theme & Feelings!Rachel McCurtain has been happily lost in the pages of books since childhood—and she’s never really tried to find her way out.
A proud English major with a soft spot for British literature (University of Florida, thank you very much), she’s spent over two decades teaching Language Arts and swapping book recommendations with her students like literary trading cards.
A few years ago, she fell headfirst into journaling, which naturally led to more books, more genres, and a TBR pile that may or may not be sentient.
When she’s not teaching or reading, Rachel’s probably wandering through a cozy independent bookstore, sniffing the pages (don’t judge), or rehearsing lines for her next community theater production.
Her life is a delightful blend of novels, notebooks, and the occasional standing ovation.

Kasie Cavanagh is an educator with 25+ years of creating & educating in performance, visual arts. She’s a Military Wife, Fur Baby Mama, and always an avid reader.
She holds a B.A. and is IB certified, but what matters most is how she uses it—creating spaces where creativity, storytelling, and imagination can fully show up and thrive.
Career highlights include performing as an entertainer at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, publishing work as a senior contributor to Dance Family Magazine, and exhibiting visual art in award-winning shows at The Dunedin Fine Arts Center and Davidson Fine Art St. Petersburg, along with creative contributions to the How to Successfully Fail in Hollywood podcast; but her favorite times of all have always been in the classroom as a teacher.
She also fully blames Rachel (lovingly) for her book journaling obsession… and thanks her for it.
And yes, she’s going to be a karaoke star in Japan!
